Engineering Project Team Leader

Caterpillar Caterpillar · Industrial · Mossville, IL

Engineering Project Team Leader for Caterpillar's Large Power Systems Division, focusing on Torsional Vibration Analysis (TVA) and Gear Train Dynamics simulations for engine components. The role involves leading a global team, defining technical direction, ensuring quality execution of analyses, supporting issue resolution, and driving continuous improvement of simulation methods and tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and mentor a global team responsible for TVA and geartrain dynamics simulation across engine platforms and applications.
  2. Define technical direction, priorities and workload planning for TVA and geartrain dynamics activities in alignment with platform and product needs.
  3. Partner with engine rotating component and platform design teams to scope, plan and execute vibration and geartrain dynamics early in the program.
  4. Own and ensure high quality execution of standard work for TVA and geartrain dynamics analyses including model setup correlation and result interpretation.
  5. Review and approve analysis results ensuring technical accuracy consistency and clear communication of risks and recommendations to stakeholders.
