This role focuses on applying engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes and products, with a strong emphasis on quality control, problem-solving, and process improvement within the automotive industry. It involves managing shifts, delegating tasks, providing feedback, leading quality initiatives, coordinating containment actions, managing quality documentation, and participating in audits. The role also requires leading cross-functional teams for quality improvement, resolving warranty concerns, managing projects, and supporting new model launches. Experience with Six Sigma, CMM, and various quality systems is expected.

What you'd actually do

  1. Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  2. Responsible for leading QOS initiatives within the production department.
  3. Review with production team leaders and Process Coaches quality issues and be the point of contact with other departments such as Machining, Quality and MP&L.
  4. Coordinate during quality concerns containment actions, dock holds, special checks to eliminate any impact to customer.
  5. Manage quality documentation on FTT, 8Ds, Scrap, Dock Holds, Dock Audit, etc.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives
  • Proven problem solving ability
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certified
  • Previous production supervision
  • CMM, ATOS Blue Light Scanning, Creaform Hand Scanner, Polyworks basic knowledge
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Proven critical thinker and troubleshooter to deliver industry leading quality

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certified
