Team Lead for Developer Experience at Mistral AI, focusing on improving developer velocity, code quality, and workflows for AI platform and products. What you'd actually do

  1. Act as the clear point of contact for your team and its projects. Remove obstacles, unblock execution, and create an environment where engineers can focus on building impactful developer tools and platforms.
  2. Own the delivery of your team’s roadmap for developer experience improvements, including projects like enhancing CI/CD and build systems, optimizing cloud registries (Docker, Azure, GCP), implementing static and dynamic code analysis tools, and automated vulnerability analysis. Ensure projects are shipped with the right level of quality, reliability, and performance.
  3. Partner closely with engineering teams to define the roadmap and priorities for developer experience. Scope initiatives, estimate engineering effort, and drive prioritization decisions based on developer productivity impact and technical necessity. Keep the whole team involved and engaged in the product direction.
  4. Stay deeply involved in architecture design, system design, coding, peer reviews, and technical decision-making for developer tooling. Lead by example and remain connected to the day-to-day challenges of the team.
  5. Define and evolve team processes, best practices, and execution rituals for developer workflows. Ensure they remain relevant as the team and product scale.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of relevant professional work experience in Developer Experience (DevEx), DevOps, or related fields.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools.
  • Experience with building and leading high-performing teams in developer tooling or infrastructure.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including product, design, and business.
  • Experience with project management and planning for infrastructure and tooling initiatives.
  • Ownership and capacity to ship developer tooling and platforms end-to-end.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), build systems, container registries, and developer tooling.
