Engineering Team Leader for air system components/turbocharger focus at Caterpillar. Responsible for leading a technical team to resolve complex technical problems and deliver components or process improvements within defined targets, working with global manufacturing sites, suppliers, and cross-functional partners. Requires strong technical expertise, program/project management, and design/development experience in IC engines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop world class air system designs to meet design requirements for multiple world-wide applications
  2. Collaborate with other engineering teams to develop product requirements for new product programs
  3. Collaborate with suppliers to optimize designs to meet performance, reliability, durability, and cost targets
  4. Direct the work of off-site engineering groups providing analysis and detailing services
  5. Complete design FMEA’s and develop validation requirements for new and improved designs

Skills

Required

  • Mechanical or Engine Combustion Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering degree
  • 8+ years of design engineering experience
  • 5+ years of air system (Turbo, EGR, etc) design and development experience
  • Experience collaborating with engine air system component and system OEM suppliers
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking
