What you'd actually do

  1. Work with experience technicians who operate test equipment including Instrons, pressure chambers, ovens, energetic safety testing equipment, and various other equipment.
  2. Testing will include analysis of production and subscale propellants and ingredients.
  3. Candidate will be expected to maintain a high standard of operational discipline to support clean, safe, and efficient operations.
  4. Fabricate both inert and energetic samples in accordance with specific detailed instruction
  5. Ability to read, interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and procedures

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years additional education and/or related experience (Level 2) or 4 years (Level 3)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Ability to qualify for an Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm (ATF) “Explosives Possessor” designation
  • Ability to qualify for a Department of Defense security clearance
  • Ability to read technical manuals and instructions
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot new software programs
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Ability to receive and follow specific instructions from policies, procedures, planning and supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Ability to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist push and pul

Nice to have

  • Preferred associate degree in a technical field.
  • Strong technical background in mechanics, electronics, or industrial machinery is a plus.
