This role provides technical support to engineers by gathering, formatting, and manipulating technical data, performing calculations, and conducting tests. It involves handling explosive materials, operating analytical instrumentation, and maintaining lab records and equipment calibration, with a focus on quality control and regulatory compliance within a defense sector.

What you'd actually do

  1. Handles explosive materials and liquid explosives on a daily basis (required).
  2. Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet customer and AS9100 requirements.
  3. Operates modern analytical instrumentation.
  4. Able to read and interpret government specifications.
  5. Familiarity with a Lab Information Management System.

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and ability to work in tight spaces
  • Experience working in an analytical lab
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends and off shifts as needed
  • U.S. citizenship

Nice to have

  • Bachelor level degree in Chemistry or STEM
  • Experience handling energetics, hazardous chemicals, and solvents preferred
