This role is for an Engineering Technician focused on R&D and prototype work for self-driving technology, specifically involving harness fabrication, electrical skills, and documentation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work as a R&D Technician building Aurora’s self-driving technology - this Includes harness fabrication from scratch, often from lucid charts, excel files, and engineering drawings.
  2. Candidates must possess excellent documentation practices.
  3. Work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.
  4. Follow safety standards and meet internal deadlines.
  5. Work with limited oversight.

What the JD emphasized

  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in harness fabrication using 1:1 form boards and various tooling in R&D and prototype spaces
  • Strong electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, redline drawings, and communicate with EDS design engineers
  • Strong background in electrical wiring & harness fabrication from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of electrical tools and equipment; crimpers, dies, multimeter, presses, connectors, contacts, wire gauges/types, soldering, microscope, etc.
  • Exceptional craftsmanship with the ability to pin out and quality test harnesses/circuit boards
