Network Engineer II at Verizon responsible for managing and supporting enterprise customers' business-critical network services, including incident and change management, troubleshooting complex network issues, and supporting various network technologies like Managed WAN, Managed LAN, and Wireless LAN. Requires knowledge of routing protocols, network devices, and QoS, with a CCNP certification preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Interacting with customers on high visibility and complex technical issues.
  2. Supporting a complex mix of technologies that create the Verizon Managed Services product offerings including Managed WAN (MWAN), Managed LAN (MLAN).
  3. Managing Wireless LAN (MWLAN - Aruba and Cisco WLCs and APs), etc.
  4. Providing expert level support for all underlying Verizon network access and fulfillment function for MNS Standard Change Management requests.
  5. Providing customer configuration which includes Cisco 7600, ASR9K, ESR, GSR IOS & IOS-XR devices, and Juniper M320 and MX960 devices.

Skills

Required

  • Knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and RIP routing protocols, redistribution, and high availability protocols such as HSRP, GLBP, VRRP, MBGP, VRFs, VRF-Lite, and MPLS VPNs.
  • Experience providing support for AOS, IOS, IOS-XR, and JUNOS products.
  • Knowledge of QOS, MQOS, queuing techniques, policing, shaping, marking etc. on Cisco and Juniper platforms.
  • A CCNP certification.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting IPVPN, DMVPN, EZVPN, and GETVPN designs.
  • Knowledge of supporting Aruba and Cisco WLAN Controllers and Access Points.
  • Experience supporting Cisco and Riverbed WAN Optimization.
  • Experience with resolution centric diagnostic approach.
  • Ability to quickly identify and isolate the root cause of the issues in minimal time.
  • Experience with Advanced network troubleshooting skills utilizing Wireshark packet capture/analysis.
