This role is for an Enterprise Account Executive focused on the retail sector in Tokyo, Japan. The primary responsibility is to drive sales and revenue by selling Anthropic's AI solutions to major retail accounts. The role involves owning the full sales cycle, building territory plans, leading consultative sales processes with senior executives, and orchestrating internal teams to deliver integrated solutions. While the role involves selling AI solutions, the core craft is enterprise sales, not building or researching AI.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and exceed revenue targets by winning new major retail accounts and expanding existing relationships across Japan's domestic retailers, convenience store chains, e-commerce platforms, and omnichannel brands
  2. Build and execute territory plans, identifying high-value opportunities across supermarket and convenience store groups, specialty retailers, fashion houses, and marketplace platforms
  3. Lead consultative sales processes with senior executives — including CIOs, CDOs, CMOs, and heads of supply chain and e-commerce — positioning AI as a driver for demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimization, and enhanced customer experience
  4. Orchestrate internal teams (Product, Engineering, Applied AI, Partnerships) to deliver solutions that integrate with existing retail technology stacks while meeting Japan's data privacy requirements under the APPI framework
