Salesforce is seeking an Enterprise Architect for their Financial Services Architecture team. This pre-sales role involves partnering with financial services customers to drive digital transformation using Salesforce solutions. The architect will act as a trusted advisor, develop relationships with customer IT stakeholders, and evangelize the Salesforce platform, including AI capabilities like Agentforce. A strong understanding of AI and Data architecture principles is required, along with the ability to research, evaluate, and experiment with emerging AI and Data technologies to guide customer solutions and enable internal teams. The role requires excellent communication and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on understanding business and IT requirements and translating them into compelling solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work with Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, and Lending companies to solve a wide variety of technical challenges using Salesforce solutions across our whole suite of products and clouds.
  2. Develop relationships with customer IT stakeholders, and help them to understand how the Salesforce platform fits into their overall technology strategy.
  3. Act as a trusted advisor, and guide customers towards solutions that have the greatest likelihood of long-term success.
  4. Hone knowledge of the Salesforce platform through hands-on training and exploration in the areas of customization, integration, and service delivery, and support our account-aligned solution engineers when this deeper level of expertise is needed to solve customer challenges.
  5. Evangelize the value proposition, benefits, and advantages of the Salesforce Platform including Hyperforce, Data 360, Agentforce, MuleSoft, Informatica, Slack and more.

Required

  • Ability to understand business & IT department requirements, translate those business needs into a compelling solution, and present your recommendations to executive, technical, and business audiences.
  • Exceptional executive presence and proven ability to articulate complex topics effectively to both C-suite leaders and technical practitioners.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and their delivery, including several of the following: Database and data management fundamentals, Web and mobile application development and architecture, Application lifecycle management, Integration principles and tools, Enterprise data management tools and methods, Process orchestration, Principles of network, application, and information security
  • Experience with machine learning concepts (predictive and generative AI), plus the ability to communicate value to diverse audiences.
  • Deeply research, evaluate, and experiment with emerging AI and Data technologies, distilling practical, hands-on knowledge and patterns to enable internal teams and guide customer solutions.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication and relationship skills.
  • Strategic thinker with thought leadership and comfort communicating with executive audiences.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to support multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Lifelong learner, inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, other STEM or business degrees, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience working as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer in a customer-facing role that provided differentiated software technology solutions.
  • Experience in roles that required working hands-on to build, implement, administer, or maintain enterprise software (e.g. software engineer, implementation architect, integration architect, or similar).
  • Understanding of financial services regulatory requirements, risk mitigation, compliance, and security (e.g. SOX, FINRA, SEC, GDPR, DORA).
  • Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery, or other innovation techniques.
  • Industry experience in Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or Lending is a plus.
  • Familiarity with core financial services concepts such as KYC/AML, loan origination
  • Graduate study a plus.
