Datadog is seeking an Enterprise Sales Engineer to provide technical expertise and support sales opportunities for their observability and security platform, which is designed for the AI era. The role involves technical engagement with customers, delivering product demonstrations, and providing feedback to the product team. While the company's platform is AI-centric, this specific role is in sales and does not involve building or directly working with AI models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Partner with the Sales team to articulate the overall Datadog value proposition, vision and strategy to customers
  2. Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase. Communicate Datadog’s value based on activities and work with customers on any identified issues or concerns to successful conclusion
  3. Technically close complex opportunities through advanced competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
  4. Deliver product and technical briefings / presentations to potential clients
  5. Maintain accurate notes and feedback in CRM regarding customer input both wins and losses

Skills

Required

  • minimum of 3+ years in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role
  • Experienced in programming/scripting with any of the following: Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, and .NET etc.
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of our offering

Nice to have

  • Passion for educating customers on observability risks that are meaningful to their business, and able to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer
