Enterprise Sales Executive (sled)

Datadog is seeking an experienced Enterprise Sales Executive for their SLED (State, Local, and Education) sales team. The role involves prospecting, building relationships, negotiating deals, and managing existing customer expectations within the public sector. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of closing experience in a tech company, a proven track record of meeting sales targets, and experience selling into SLED organizations. The role requires travel and offers high income earning potential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prospect into State, Local, and Education organizations while running an efficient sales process
  2. Maintain, build and own specific relationship maps for your territory including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
  3. Develop a deep comprehension of customer's business
  4. Negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with SLED enterprises by selling value and ROI
  5. Handle existing customer expectations while expanding reach and depth into assigned territory

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years closing experience (mix of field selling within mid-market or enterprise)
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding direct sales goals of 800k+
  • Experience operating with an average deal size of $50k+
  • Ability to demonstrate methodology to prospect and build pipeline on your own
  • Experience in working for an innovative tech company (SaaS, IT infrastructure or similar preferred)
  • Experience in selling into state, local, and education organizations
  • Ability to win new logos
  • Regular travel to client sites
