Environmental Engineer role focused on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations (EPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.), managing risk analyses, conducting audits, and interacting with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders. Requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, with knowledge of US environmental laws.

What you'd actually do

  1. Interpret and communicate environmental requirements, identify compliance issues, act as a subject matter expert, and coordinate key initiatives with facility personnel, legal, and other stakeholders.
  2. Ensure inspections are completed as and where needed, such as storm water, air quality, spill prevention, and any other required inspections.
  3. Function as a point of contact for regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation and processes, and new process and technology introductions including the preparation and submittal of reports, permits, and notifications to federal, state, and local government agencies.
  4. Ensure environmental regulatory work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with applicable standards.
  5. Conduct internal environmental audits for continuous improvement.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma and at least 6 years of relevant experience or a bachelors degree and 3 years of relevant experience or masters degree with 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicable experience with environmental regulations and/or compliance programs
  • Experience effectively communicating technical information including complex and changing regulatory requirements and their impacts to the company.
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Nice to have

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources, or closely-related field.
  • Possess a current secret clearance.
