Chewy is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator for their Lewisberry, PA Fulfillment Center. The role involves coordinating and implementing the EHS program, influencing safe behaviors, training team members, conducting audits and risk assessments, facilitating incident investigations, and maintaining EHS metrics and paperwork. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year in an EHS related field or a relevant degree, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the designated EHS shift representative, coordinating and implementing all areas of the Chewy EHS Program as advised by the Site EHSM.
  2. Influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all Team Members in aligning with Chewy EHS standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
  3. Training and coaching Team Members on observed at-risk behaviors.
  4. Support leadership efforts to ensure compliance with corporate EHS Program expectations and applicable federal and state laws.
  5. Identify and communicate to leadership of compliance issues, EHS risks, and improvement opportunities by completing daily, weekly, and monthly audits.

Skills

Required

  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • A minimum of 1 year in an EHS related field OR a bachelor’s degree in EHS-relevant field OR 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Chewy.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a professional capacity.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, analysis, judgment, and customer-focus skills.
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analysis.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving personnel issues.
  • Ability to develop and implement department objectives and strategies.
  • Available to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in an EHS-relevant field.
  • Experience leading and coaching a team.
  • Experience being within or leading a Safety Committee.
  • Experience in emergency response with active First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Experience with Intelex, Avetta, Asana, Smartsheet, Safety Management Systems, Microsoft Office, or other similar workspace software.
