Figure AI is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to ensure compliance with EHS regulations, develop risk mitigation strategies, and promote a safe workplace for their AI Robotics company developing a humanoid robot.

What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other environmental safety standards
  2. Conduct risk assessments and environmental audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement related to safety, health, and environmental practices
  3. Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and training materials to promote a culture of safety within the organization
  4. Lead investigations of workplace incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  5. Promote environmental sustainability by identifying and implementing energy-efficient, waste reduction, and resource conservation programs

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health, safety, or environmental engineering role
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, policies, and best practices
  • Experience with risk assessment techniques, incident investigation, and environmental sustainability practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software

Nice to have

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certifications)
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring equipment
  • OSHA 30-Hour or OSHA 40-Hour certification
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental protection
