Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer responsible for interpreting and implementing EHS regulations, developing and maintaining EHS programs, conducting audits, and interfacing with regulatory agencies for a Northrop Grumman campus. The role requires experience in various EHS compliance programs and industrial hygiene assessments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Reviews and interprets existing and proposed environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations to determine applicability and impact for sites.
  2. Assists with implementation of programs to comply with EHS regulations.
  3. Partners with business leaders to continuously improve the culture, awareness, and accountability in support of EHS programs.
  4. Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of EH&S programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation.
  5. Completes audits, IH sampling, ergonomic assessments, and assists in pollution prevention activities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience (Level 3) or 8 years (Level 4)
  • Experience in EHS compliance programs
  • Experience in industrial hygiene assessments and sampling
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Experience working with Arizona Department of Health Services
  • Background in laser and radiation safety
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance

Nice to have

  • Master of Science (MS) degree in an environmental, health, and safety program
  • Certifications in environmental or health & safety related programs
  • Experience with MRP systems and Microsoft SharePoint programs
  • Computer based skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point programs
  • Oversight of third-party consultants/contractors
