This role is for an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist at John Deere, focusing on managing and implementing Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include leading safety programs, maintaining ISO 14001, conducting risk assessments, and providing training. The role requires experience with regulatory requirements, environmental programs, and occupational safety principles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. A CRSP designation is a plus.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead a manufacturing team's Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  2. Move to and Maintain an ISO 14001 :2015 Environmental Management System at a small manufacturing location
  3. Assist in planning, designing, implementing, evaluating, and leading health and safety management programs and processes
  4. Support strategic and tactical plans as required to meet company goals around compliance and injury reduction
  5. Conduct periodic inspections, risk assessments and self-assessments

Skills

Required

  • 3 or more years of experience applying occupational safety and/or environmental governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation
  • 3 or more years of practical application of environmental programs, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles, and the ability to apply to workplace environments
  • 3 or more years of executing processes for periodic inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action assurance, safety and environmental education and training
  • 3 or more years analyzing appropriate safety and health metrics to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • 1 or more years of experience in the Occupational Safety and Health or environmental profession in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, factory operations, and warehousing
  • Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • CRSP designation
  • Degree in an Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering/Technology, or Science discipline
