Epic Patient Access Senior Consultant

This role is for a Senior Consultant on Deloitte's Healthcare Solutions team, focusing on implementing and optimizing Epic Patient Access modules (Cadence, ADT, Prelude) and their integration with downstream revenue cycle processes. The consultant will lead design, build, testing, and activation phases, ensuring alignment with revenue cycle operations and improving key performance indicators like clean claim rate and days in AR. The role involves client interaction, team leadership, and a significant travel commitment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead functional design and configuration for Epic Patient Access modules, serving as the escalation point and design authority across Epic Cadence (Scheduling), Epic ADT (Admission, Discharge, Transfer), and Epic Prelude (Registration).
  2. Align Patient Access workflows to downstream revenue cycle processes, including eligibility and benefits, authorizations, charge capture, claim edits, and billing handoffs to Epic Resolute Hospital/Professional Billing.
  3. Coordinate and execute integrated testing, cutover, and go-live readiness across the revenue cycle, validating clean claim rate, registration accuracy, authorization completion, and reduction in avoidable write-offs.
  4. Partner with Patient Access, revenue cycle operations, Health Information Management (HIM)/coding, and Patient Financial Services (PFS) leadership to translate requirements into Epic design, manage decision logs and change control, and document build specifications and test scripts.
  5. Lead workstreams and mentor client and project team members; manage status, risks, and issues; and support stabilization and optimization to improve cash acceleration and days in accounts receivable (AR).
