Overview
Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate Equipment Maintenance Technician II/III to join our powertrain and electronics team to perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on our factory equipment for VTOL electric aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. Responsibilities
- Adhere to Joby’s safety procedures and protocol.
- Own preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on manual, semi-automated, and fully automated manufacturing equipment.
- Contribute to setting up preventive maintenances in our SaaS maintenance platform.
- Order and stock service spares.
- Carry-out preventative maintenance to properly service and maintain all current and future production equipment. This may include utilizing hand tools and power tools, machine-shop fabrication equipment, electrical wiring and troubleshooting, working with high voltage and hydraulic/pneumatic pressure systems, mechanical component assembly, general equipment troubleshooting,
- Equipment to be maintained and repaired includes: robotic workstations, laser and resistance welders, process ovens, air compressors, vacuum pumps, electrical testing and inspection equipment, AOI, and AXI equipment.
Required
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Work Shift is Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm
Minimum 4 years of experience
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards of work

Able to operate multiple equipment per SOP and basic hand tools (electric and manual)
Strong work ethic
Able to adapt to sudden changes in daily priorities
Team oriented attitude
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving techniques and analytical ability
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks according to daily plans
Able to lift 25-35 lbs. twice per hour and perform repetitive tasks
Desired
Associates degree or higher
Experience working in manufacturing, repair, or service
Experience working on high-voltage equipment
Strong desire to continually learn and grow new skills
Robot controller and PLC programming experience
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $38.00 - $47.00 per hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
