Boeing is hiring Equipment & Reliability Engineers (Associate, Mid-level, or Senior) in North Charleston, SC. This role focuses on ensuring manufacturing teammates have optimal access and knowledge of how to operate safe and functionally reliable assets. Responsibilities include analyzing production asset downtime data, executing asset upgrade projects, applying reliability engineering practices, and troubleshooting production asset downtime events. The role requires a BS in Engineering or related field and 2+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment. Preferred qualifications include experience in CAD, GD&T, equipment maintenance, project management, root cause analysis, data analytics, configuration management, and knowledge of reliability practices and industrial PLCs.

What you'd actually do

  1. Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements, develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
  2. Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling. Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  3. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
  4. Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
  5. Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling software programs
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience in equipment maintenance
  • Experience in project management
  • Proficient in Root Cause Analysis or similar troubleshooting technique
  • Experience in Data analytics
  • Knowledge of configuration management systems and documentation practices
  • Knowledge of reliability practices such as condition-based maintenance, vibration analysis, thermography, machine alignment
  • Knowledge of industrial PLC and HMIs in automatic equipment, such as programming and ladder logic
