Equipment & Tool Engineer – Level 3

This role focuses on designing and developing equipment and tooling for aviation product manufacturing, involving CAD software, technical drawings, and compliance with engineering standards. It does not involve AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Investigate and develop equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aviation product design and build requirements.
  2. Participate in design reviews, collect design requirements, and create drawings and models to support build plans.
  3. Prepare specifications, purchase requests, and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
  4. Support user training development.
  5. Perform design calculations on tools to size members, select materials, and make purchase decisions relevant to the statement of work.

Skills

Required

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • Three (3) years of experience as an Equipment and Tool Engineer or a related position
  • Three years of experience utilizing solid modeling software, including CATIA
  • Three years of experience creating technical drawings of tools using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Three years of experience complying with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards
  • Three years of experience designing sheet metal parts using 3-D CAD tools such as ENOVIA
  • Three years of experience reviewing and approving product engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
  • Three years of experience evaluating Tool Order packages and analyzing statements of work for each order
  • Three years of experience serving as signature authority for tooling and equipment structures.
