Equity Research Associate in Healthcare focusing on analyzing industry trends, company fundamentals, and market dynamics to provide clients with original research and strategies. What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to thematic and sector-specific reports on the healthcare industry; collaborate on cross-sector projects with other teams.
  2. Handle day-to-day client requests and provide timely, insightful responses.
  3. Communicate your team’s research ideas persuasively to internal and external stakeholders, tailoring communications to client needs.
  4. Organize and participate in fact-finding trips, company visits, and channel-check meetings for clients and investor tours.
  5. Suggest new approaches or ideas to enhance the team’s research franchise and business impact.

Skills

Required

  • At least 1 year of experience with proven analytical skills, ideally in equity research, healthcare, or related fields.
  • PhD degree or MD degree or equivalent, preferably in a healthcare, life sciences, medicine-related field.
  • Ability to independently arrange and conduct fact-finding trips and channel-check meetings.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with an entrepreneurial drive.
  • Ability to build and maintain robust financial models (base and sensitivity cases) with minimal guidance; mastery of key model drivers.
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals and drivers of the healthcare sector, including competitive landscape and market risks.
  • Ability to synthesize diverse information and articulate a clear, compelling investment thesis.
  • Strong skills in verbal and written communication with the ability to explain complex healthcare subjects to general audience
  • Ability to leverage AI and machine learning tools into equity research work

Nice to have

  • healthcare backgrounds who can process large data healthcare data sets, think outside the box, and conduct non-consensus/thematic research.
  • Demonstrates creativity in problem-solving and seeks innovative approaches.
  • Ability to thrive under competitive pressures and remain focused on client needs.
  • Comfortable interacting with business clients and company management.
  • Progress toward a CFA, or a CFA designation, is a plus.
  • Mandarin language skills are highly preferred due to the focus on China-based companies.
  • Programing experience with AI agents and/or large scale data sets is appreciated
