This role is a Section Leader for the Test Equipment Prototyping Test & Inspection Section within the Hardware Engineering department at RTX. The position involves coordinating program staffing, providing guidance and mentoring to technicians, managing processes, collaborating with other leaders, overseeing training, fostering teamwork, participating in performance development, managing manpower, enforcing lab policy, overseeing shop operations, providing technical guidance for troubleshooting, identifying alternate tooling, and supporting functional initiatives. The role requires a STEM degree with significant experience in technical leadership, functional leadership or program management, and experience presenting to leadership. A Top Secret security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coordinate program staffing needs, ensuring that each direct report has suitable work assignment and opportunities for growth and career advancement.
  2. Provide guidance, direction, mentoring
  3. Document and manage the processes, roles, and responsibilities of this team, jointly with the development of the larger organizational processes and roles
  4. Collaborate with the Department Leader and other ERBS Section Leaders in execution of Hardware Engineering goals
  5. Oversee training to foster growth of direct reports and maintain/improve skillsets within the section
