Estimator II - Smart City Presales Engineer

This role involves estimating and developing technical proposals for integrated Smart City offerings, including Building Management Systems, Security, Fire, ICT, and Command and Control platforms. The Estimator will analyze client RFPs, formulate financially sound proposals, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and present technical and financial solutions to stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing technical BOQs, system architectures, and sizing servers and storage, while working closely with sales and pre-sales teams to ensure quality deliverables within deadlines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Estimate: Input study, generation of RFI’s, estimation of Integrated Smart city offerings including but not limited to Building Management systems, ELV Systems, Security, Fire, ICT, Integrated platform, MIS, Command and control, Cabling etc.
  2. Develop comprehensive technical proposals that clearly articulate tailored solutions based on client RFP specifications and business needs. Analyze technical feasibility, ensure alignment with best practices, and highlight innovation and added value.
  3. Work collaboratively with internal teams, Vendors to formulate financially sound proposals. Conduct cost-benefit analysis, define pricing strategies, and ensure competitiveness while protecting profitability.
  4. Be a trusted advisor—engage with clients to understand their business goals and recommend impactful solutions.
  5. Present technical and financial solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Min 3-5 years of work experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role
  • Understanding various Smart City Architecture Layers
  • Understanding various analytical, digital transformation, software enterprise solutions, and Integration requirements in Smart cities
  • Proven ability to translate complex software solutions into business value
  • Experience in software licensing models
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills, both verbal and written (English)
  • Ability to prioritize jobs as per the timelines
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments
