Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Engineer to perform threat system research, ECM technique development, laboratory system and field testing, and platform implementation. This role involves analyzing radar systems, designing ECM waveforms, and testing EW systems in various environments. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant experience and a Secret security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform radar system threat research and analysis to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
  2. Design, develop, and test Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) waveforms that exploit vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
  3. Perform hands-on testing of an EW system in development environments, system integration labs and at customer/contractor facilities.
  4. Support planning working groups and routinely participate in live test events.
  5. Generate and update system and sub-system level specifications, ensure verification traceability, develop test plans, perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive reports.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited school
  • Understanding of radar waveforms, Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and/or Electronic Countermeasures (ECM)
  • Experience with software development
  • Experience with lab test equipment such as function generator, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with many external organizations
  • Starting this role is contingent upon obtaining a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance

Nice to have

  • Experience with ECM technique development
  • Experience running RF lab test equipment, including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and EW specific analysis tools
  • Software experience in Ada, C-type languages
  • Knowledgeable in Agile software development methodology
  • Experience in performing aircraft functional test
  • Current Secret clearance or higher
