Executive Protection Specialist

Capital One is seeking an Executive Protection Specialist to join their Global Workplace Services (GWS) team. This role involves researching, assessing, and reporting on security risks to senior executives, monitoring emerging threats, and assisting management with protective intelligence briefs. The specialist will conduct research into databases for threat analysis and background investigations, liaise with internal and external counterparts, and contribute to protective programs including personal protection, event security, and transportation. Responsibilities also include monitoring security equipment, participating in training, and ensuring physical readiness. The ideal candidate has experience in protective service operations, corporate sector client service, and potentially protective intelligence or emergency response. The role requires discretion, integrity, and the ability to work long hours and travel.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide a safe and protective environment for senior executives of the company and other VIP’s visiting the executive suite
  2. Remain ready to provide safe, defensive driving for executives to and from work, business meetings and special events
  3. Conduct advance special event surveys in preparation for executive travel
  4. Assist with executive and dignitary security at special events
  5. Provide executive protection and logistics support, as needed

Skills

Required

  • Executive protection or personal protective specialist experience
  • Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) HR218 credentials
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to various work spaces
  • High-level of attentiveness, energy and professionalism
  • Physical readiness to respond to security incidents or hazard at all times
  • Ability to stand for several hours
  • Associates Degree or Military experience

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Corporate sector experience as an Executive Protection or Personal Protective Specialist
  • Protective intelligence, physical security, emergency response, as well as security protocol implementation experience
  • Private sector client-service role experience
  • Advanced level training in medical emergencies, defensive tactics, evasive defensive driver training, and tactical firearms
  • Estate security experience, including a working knowledge of the integration residential alarm and surveillance systems, access control
  • CPR, AED and Basic First Aid Certification
  • Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit
  • Personal Protective Services (PPS) registration
