Experience Design Professional

Autodesk Autodesk · Enterprise · Brisbane, Australia

This role is for a Senior UX Designer focused on creating integration technology and solutions for Digital Twin technology within the Tandem Connect team at Autodesk. The designer will shape emerging AI-driven experiences, including assistant-based and intelligent workflow interactions, focusing on user configuration, troubleshooting, and navigation of complex systems. The role involves designing interactions that balance automation with user control, ensuring transparency, usability, and trust in AI-assisted workflows, and exploring new interaction patterns for AI-driven interfaces.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and iterate on AI-assisted experiences, such as guided workflows, assistants, or intelligent recommendations that help users configure and manage integrations
  2. Translate complex system behaviours into understandable AI interactions, including clear system feedback, error handling, and user control mechanisms
  3. Explore and prototype new interaction patterns for AI-driven interfaces (e.g. conversational, command-based, or hybrid UI + assistant experiences)
  4. Collaborate with engineering and product to define appropriate roles for AI within the user experience, balancing automation with predictability and user trust
  5. Design end-to-end user experiences for Tandem Connect workflows

  • Experience designing systems with modular or plugin-based architectures
  • Experience working on enterprise or B2B SaaS products
  • Exposure to design systems and component libraries
  • Experience designing AI-powered or assistant-based user experiences (e.g. copilots, chat interfaces, or intelligent workflow tools)
  • Understanding of UX considerations for AI systems, such as transparency, user control, error recovery, and trust
  • Experience working on tools for technical users where automation augments (but does not replace) user intent
