Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Core Avionics Engineer (Level 3) for Avionics development and integration in Berkeley, MO. The role involves technical leadership in developing new avionics systems and integrating existing equipment into new platforms, acting as a technical interface to program leadership, suppliers, and customers. Responsibilities include driving technical excellence, providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, supporting design of hardware/software/interface specifications, testing and validation, monitoring supplier performance, and utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices. Requires a BS in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience and the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drives technical excellence for Avionics development and integration activities ranging across multiple functional areas including Communication, Navigation & Identification Systems, Timing Distribution Systems, and Stores Management Systems.
  2. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Works closely with program managers, program chief engineers and other Boeing Teams
  3. Support the design of hardware, software and interface specifications
  4. Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  5. Develop tests to evaluate components and subsystems

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 5+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor's or 3+ years of work-related experience with a Masters or PhD
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
