Position Responsibilities:
- Performs activities to ensure aircraft availability through application of maintenance procedures, practices and data
- Performs analyses and applies aircraft and regulatory knowledge to support the determination of requirements for maintenance, inspection, repair and modification of aircraft
- Oversees the verification of modification, repair and flight release; reviews aircraft airworthiness and audits contractor's regulatory certification
- Schedules maintenance and test activities and assures aircraft configuration
- Prepares, maintains, and coordinates approval of aircraft maintenance inspection plans and airworthiness certification for operational aircraft
- Reviews aircraft return to service documents and documents maintenance and support concepts
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- 3+ years of experience in an aircraft maintenance environment supporting configuration management and release for flight
- 3+ years of experience in production, maintenance planning, and/or testing of commercial or military aircraft sub-systems and components including flight controls, landing gear, fuels, fire detection, propulsion (engine and APU), environmental controls, and avionics
- 3+ years of experience as a maintenance planner and/or scheduler
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience with military aircraft, systems, and operations
- Experience interfacing with senior level military customers
- Knowledge of the OPNAV 4790.2 (Series)
- Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (D or E-555-0040)
