Boeing is seeking an Experienced/Mid-level Nondestructive Evaluation Technician in Berkeley, MO. The role involves applying NDE methods, developing new sensor technology and testing systems, defining requirements for tools and processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The position also includes R&D for internal and external customers and supporting various aircraft programs. What you'd actually do

  1. Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods/approaches, such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical and radiologic principles, in developing new and novel methods/approaches to address affordability and supportability objectives
  2. Develop new sensor technology and testing systems for nondestructive evaluation (NDE) applied to manufacturing and support areas
  3. Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their use
  4. Lead development of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
  5. Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
  • Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)
  • Experience working in multi-discipline teams, a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical customers
  • Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Excellent time management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locations
  • Active / Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance preferred but not required
