Experienced or Senior Lean Practitioner (level 4 or 5)

This role focuses on driving Lean initiatives and mindset within Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS). Responsibilities include coaching teams on Lean tools, developing training programs, analyzing processes, and measuring initiative effectiveness. It requires experience in Lean principles and cross-functional collaboration, with a preference for aerospace or manufacturing backgrounds.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coach and Facilitate Lean activities and initiatives across various programs & functions
  2. Teach and apply applicable lean tools (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Steam mapping, Process mapping, 5s) and process analysis to identify areas for improvement
  3. Develop, deploy and execute integrated continuous improvement strategy and assist with its strategic deployment
  4. Develop and implement Lean training programs for employees at all levels
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement efforts, facilitate cross-team best-practice sharing, and promote replication of successful process improvements across the organization.

Skills

Required

  • 5 + years of experience using Lean Principles and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools in the workplace (e.g. Problem solving, Kaizen workshops, 3p, Value Steam Mapping, Process mapping, 5S)
  • 5 + years of experience working in cross-functional teams
  • 5 + years of experience teaching Lean Principals, Tools and Concepts
  • Willing and able to work a variable shift (primarily 1st shift)
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and potentially international travel

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5 + years of experience in Aerospace, Fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 5 + years of Experience in Quality Management System (QMS)/Boeing Production System (BPS) or equivalent
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
