Experienced or Senior or Expert Level Electromagnetic Compatibility (emc) Engineer

Boeing is hiring an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to develop and validate EMC/EMI requirements, coordinate testing, develop control plans, perform analyses, and support hardware/software testing for various Boeing systems. The role involves supporting products throughout their lifecycle, performing trade studies, and providing mentorship.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops and validates electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems, subsystems, components, interconnects and structures.
  2. Coordinate, test, and verify EMI/EMC requirements with teammates, customers, and system architects through the development and sustainment of various Boeing systems
  3. Develop EMI/EMC Control Plans, Test Procedures, and Test Reports
  4. Perform EMI/EMC analyses and implement mitigation mechanisms to assure compatibility and safety of new and existing systems and interfaces
  5. Develop the evaluation of supplier data and design drawings to verify and correct system design to EMI/EMC standards

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3 or more years of related work experience
  • Engineering experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects)
  • Willing to Travel Domestically and internationally as needed

Nice to have

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience
  • 13 or more years’ related work experience
  • An ABET accredited Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering
  • Experience with relevant aircraft electromagnetic standards including RTCA DO-160
  • Experience in a role which required knowledge of DO-160, IEC-61000, and/or FCC part 15
  • Experience do you have with CST Studio Suite, ANSYS EMIT, FEKO or similar RF modeling software
  • Experience leading teams on complex projects
  • Engineering experience with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge)
  • Experience with lightning direct effects testing
