What you'd actually do

  1. Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design.
  2. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  3. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  4. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  5. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 5+ years of experience in the structural or aerospace industry
  • 3+ years of experience performing structural analysis on metallic structures
  • 2+ years of experience performing structural analysis on composite material systems
  • 2+ years of experience working on primary aircraft structures
  • 2+ years of experience collaborating and performing oversight on projects with international partners/suppliers
  • 1+ years of experience supporting test development and execution
  • Ability to apply classical hand analysis methods
  • Ability to perform FEA and understand/utilize/validate results
  • Prior experience with aircraft, heavy structures, hardware systems or interiors manufacturing/production systems

Nice to have

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Works under general direction.
  • 5+ years of experience performing the primary responsibilities in a lead capacity working under minimal direction
  • 2+ years of experience developing certification related documentation
  • 2+ years of experience developing or leading test execution
  • 1+ years of experience developing analytical processes or tools
  • Current or prior DER/AR/E-UM
