Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Experienced / Senior Ground Loads Engineer to support Air Dominance programs. The role involves developing air vehicle design criteria for ground loads, performing ground loads analyses, defining flight envelopes, developing test plans, creating and correlating models, and reviewing hardware packages. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of experience, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead in developing air vehicle design criteria for ground loads
  2. Collaborate with the airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to generate integrated aerodynamic, structural, and landing gear models for flight vehicle analysis consistent with a Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment
  3. Perform ground loads analyses (ground handling, taxi, takeoff & landing, etc.) to support air vehicle design and stores integration
  4. Define allowable flight envelopes and operational limits
  5. Develop flight and ground test plans

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5 or more years' related work experience
  • ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance

Nice to have

  • aircraft modeling and simulation
  • aircraft flight and/or ground testing
  • multi-body dynamics (MBD) modeling and analysis
  • Experience leading teams or projects
  • Experience using NASTRAN or ADAMS
  • Proficiency in one or more higher-level programming languages such as C, Fortran, MATLAB, python, or similar
  • Possess interpersonal communication (written & verbal) skills in a team-oriented environment
