This role focuses on trade control and compliance within the defense industry, involving the preparation and submission of export authorization applications to US government agencies. It requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop and implement trade strategies, provide training on trade-related topics, and act as an agent for change in global trade infrastructure. The position emphasizes experience with US export/import regulations like EAR and ITAR.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the Boeing Defense business.
  2. Develop, implement and execute trade strategies by anticipating Boeing Defense business needs, following defense regulatory policy, and crafting an executable plan to support the business.
  3. Prepare and submit trade authorizations to the Department of State and the Department of Commerce (agreements, licenses, exemptions and exceptions) to enable Boeing's global growth. Be familiar with other regulatory agencies and their impact on the Boeing Defense business.
  4. Provide internal training and regulatory guidance to Boeing Defense on a variety of trade-related topics, such as dual/third country nationals, document marking and distribution, foreign visit requests, denied party screening, export logging, annual and semi-annual reporting.
  5. Be an agent for change by helping evolve the global trade infrastructure at Boeing through data analytics, process change requests and making connections that influence others.

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of experience with writing trade control authorities/export-import licensing
  • 1+ years of experience working with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and/or U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • 1+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables
  • 1+ years of experience in Global Trade Controls interpretation or analysis

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline (Business, Law, International Business, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience in a role where meticulous attention to detail, with emphasis on accuracy and quality was paramount
  • 3+ years of experience managing & organizing multiple deliverables and deadlines with minimal direction
