Spotify is seeking an Experiential Marketing Specialist in Johannesburg to support the development and delivery of on-the-ground brand experiences across Sub-Saharan Africa. This role involves bringing Spotify to life through culturally relevant, community-led activations and events, including live experiences, partnerships, and creator moments. The specialist will leverage local cultural insights to shape authentic experiences, manage planning and execution, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the development and execution of experiential marketing campaigns across Sub-Saharan Africa, bringing Spotify’s brand to life in culturally relevant ways
  2. Contribute local cultural insights to shape activations that connect authentically with communities, creators, and audiences
  3. Help identify key cultural moments, partnerships, and opportunities across the region
  4. Assist in planning and delivering events end-to-end, from briefing through execution and post-event reporting
  5. Maintain timelines, trackers, budgets, and project documentation to keep initiatives running smoothly

Skills

Required

  • minimum of 2+ years of experience in experiential marketing, events, or cultural marketing within Sub-Saharan Africa
  • strong understanding of local cultures, communities, and emerging scenes across the region
  • translate cultural insight into meaningful, audience-first experiences
  • comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and navigating evolving priorities
  • hands-on and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance planning and execution
  • experience supporting end-to-end activations, including live and content-led experiences
  • communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams and partners
