Boeing is seeking an Experimental Flight Test Instrumentation and Data Systems Manager to lead a team responsible for developing and executing instrumentation operations for flight test programs. The role involves managing engineers and technicians, acquiring resources, managing suppliers, and improving processes. The manager will also provide technical oversight, manage programmatic aspects, and develop employees. Experience with flight test instrumentation systems and leadership is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage a diverse team of engineers and technicians to develop and executes project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
  2. Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
  3. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  4. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  5. Develop and engage employees through: coaching; mentoring; and employee performance assessment, as well as identifying growth opportunities and assignments that best fit the needs of the individual and the company

Skills

Required

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
  • Experience with flight test instrumentation systems

Nice to have

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
  • 10+ years of experience with flight test, flight operations, or system test
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or experience creating estimates
  • Experience with Program Management Best Practices including Base Line Management, Risk/Issue/Opportunity Management, Performance Metrics, Customer Communications, Requirements Management, Supplier Management, and/or Earned Value Management
