This role is for an Expert Maintenance Technician at Eli Lilly's new Medicine Foundry, a center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing and facilities equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with GMP and safety regulations. The role involves multi-craft expertise in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation, troubleshooting, documentation, and potentially leading a team. It is a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct daily activities with a safety-first mindset. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  2. Complete all work in a timely manner and in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) procedures.
  3. Complete all documentation associated with daily maintenance activities, including work order completion and post maintenance documentation.
  4. Responsible for passing off vital information to all appropriate parties related to critical equipment issues both through oral and written communication methods.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including leading a team of mechanics and technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice to have

  • Associate’s degree or technical degree or certification in a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a multi-craft maintenance role within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient use of CMMS (Maximo) and other Work Order systems
  • Proficient use of electronic devices, smartphones, tablets, and laptops
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
