This role is for an F-18 Aircraft Structures Mechanic 4 at Northrop Grumman, responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and modifications on F-18 aircraft structures. The position requires experience with aircraft components, interpreting technical documents, and performing various repair operations. A secret DOD clearance is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, components, and systems in accordance all applicable directives.
  2. A variety of major structure repairs, remove/replace parts such as skins, intercostals, heat shields, bulkheads, longerons and fittings.
  3. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
  4. Able to perform part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, deburring, trimming, riveting, precision drilling, reaming, coldworking, and composite repairs.
  5. Able to remove, replace multiple types of fasteners including, Hi-loks. Jo-bolts, Cherry max, and Huk-bolts, and fast rivets.
