The role involves performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, including electrical systems, components, and engines, in accordance with applicable directives. Responsibilities include understanding pre/post-flight activities, interpreting schematics, using hand and specialty tools, removing/replacing components, and maintaining electrical and instrument systems. Requires at least 4 years of F/A-18 E/F experience and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, F-18 aircraft equipment, F-18 engines, F-18 components, and systems in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directives in support of aircraft modification.
  2. Responsible for Depot Level support of all of the aircraft’s Electrical systems.
  3. Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
  4. Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance all applicable directives.
  5. Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.

Skills

Required

  • F/A-18 E/F experience
  • F/A-18 inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs
  • English communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Document maintenance and repair actions
  • Perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment
  • Comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance
  • Familiar with IETM’s and Wire Illuminator
  • Familiar with NAMP 4790 and applicable NAVAIR technical publications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, and working overhead
  • Pass a physical/respiratory evaluation

Nice to have

  • A&P License
  • FCC Radar Endorsement
  • U.S. Navy or USMC background
  • Active Secret DoD clearance
  • supported U.S. Navy F-18 squadrons on deployment
