F-22 Structural Analyst Engineer (entry-level or Associate)

Entry-level or Associate Structural Analyst Engineer for the F-22 Air Vehicle Engineering team. Responsibilities include conducting stress analyses of aircraft assemblies' primary structure, using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and supporting test execution and analyses/reports. The role also involves investigating failures and analyzing improvements for in-service products.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
  2. Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  3. Supports modernization activities to maintain air dominance for decades to come
  4. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  5. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • College coursework and/or work experience in Structural Analysis

Nice to have

  • 1+ years of higher education and/or related work experience
  • 1+ years’ experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools
  • 1+ years’ experience working with structural sizing, and finite element models/simulations using NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, etc
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Experience independently constructing, executing, reviewing, and managing structural finite element models
