Role Definition Supports, teaches, and leads projects using Lean, Six Sigma and project management methodologies to achieve business goals.
Responsibilities • Assisting in employing Six Sigma methodology and analytics into organizational operations to meet business goals and objectives. • Supporting the design and development of Six Sigma program strategies and goals, including supporting systems and tools, for quality and business process improvements. • Providing assistance in the implementation of Sigma project portfolios to achieve measurable business process improvements. • Participating in planning, developing and implementing Six Sigma projects to meet specific quality and performance standards.
Skill Descriptors Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects. Level Working Knowledge: • Under guidance, prepares status reports for client management. • Documents initial plans and estimates for simple projects. • Utilizes desired project administration tools. • Documents project meetings, particularly status reports on deliverables and next steps. • Works with such functions as task splitting and project merging.
Active Learning: Understanding the necessity for continuous personal growth and learning; ability to gauge one's strengths, limitations and interests accurately, and use this knowledge for purposes of performance effectiveness self-development. Level Working Knowledge: • Explains lessons learned from mistakes and failures as well as successes. • Maintains network of contacts within own unit. • Identifies and explains own strengths and development needs. • Makes use of journals, associations, and conferences in own professional specialty. • Learns new concepts, processes and tools related to own immediate responsibilities.

Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Level Basic Understanding: • Explains the value of a disciplined approach to problem solving. • Describes problem reporting and escalation practices. • Utilizes accepted procedures for problem analysis and resolution. • Identifies key aspects of problem-solving techniques used in own area.
Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services. Level Basic Understanding: • Identifies the main processes for which the group is responsible. • Demonstrates the ability to improve on ways of doing things. • Applies the concept of continuous improvement to identify opportunities for greater efficiency. • Seeks help to implement ideas for process improvement for the group.
Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control ) methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the manufacturing processes and control the improvements by eliminating root causes. Level Basic Understanding: • Describes the basic components and functions of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology. • Lists tools used in Six Sigma DMAIC methodology. • Describes processes used in Six Sigma DMAIC methodology. • Identifies situations where using Six Sigma DMAIC methodology is necessary.
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
