Boeing is seeking a Facilities Controls Engineer to enhance site infrastructure systems, focusing on Building Automation Systems (BAS), industrial environmental controls, and lighting control systems. The role involves administering, troubleshooting, and maintaining BAS, diagnosing and resolving environmental control issues, configuring controllers and sensors, designing control logic, investigating failures, planning system improvements, leading special projects, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3+ years of experience with building electrical/mechanical systems, facilities engineering in manufacturing/industrial environments, and computerized Building Automation Systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Automation Systems (hardware, servers, software, and networks)
  2. Diagnose and resolve environmental control issues (temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, noise, IAQ) to recommend and implement solutions
  3. Configure, program, calibrate and test controllers and sensors to integrate into BAS networks
  4. Design and program setpoints and control logic (temperature, humidity, pressure, time, on/off)
  5. Investigate failures, determine root causes to develop corrective actions and workarounds

Skills

Required

  • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
  • 3+ years of experience with building electrical and mechanical systems
  • 3+ years of experience working in a facilities engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 3+ years of experience with the computerized Building Automation Systems (i.e. Trane, Honeywell and/or Johnson Controls Metasys)
  • 3+ years of full time aerospace industry experience within Environmental Controls, Flight Controls, and/or Mechanical/Hydraulic Systems

Nice to have

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Robotics Engineering
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with PLC (programmable logic control) hardware
  • 5+ years of experience with equipment reliability or machine troubleshooting
  • 5+ years of experience supporting building lighting controls
  • 5+ years of experience supporting building environmental controls
  • 5+ years of experience modifying computer programs
  • Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Revit software
