Facilities Operation Manager - Electrical

This role manages the operation and maintenance of critical electrical systems in Oracle's data centers, focusing on safety, reliability, and compliance. Responsibilities include leading technicians, overseeing maintenance programs, managing vendors, and ensuring operational readiness to guarantee continuous uptime.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead day-to-day operation, maintenance, and service execution for critical electrical infrastructure.
  2. Own electrical plant readiness, including preventive maintenance, testing, repairs, corrective work, outage coordination, and maintenance backlog management.
  3. Serve as the primary site point of contact and technical lead for electrical systems, including incident escalation and operational decision support.
  4. Manage Facilities Technicians, contractors, and service vendors, ensuring safety, quality, procedural discipline, and SLA performance.
  5. Oversee troubleshooting and restoration for electrical faults, equipment degradation, abnormal conditions, and operational incidents.

Skills

Required

  • 5–8 years of experience in electrical maintenance, service execution, or plant operations in data centers or other mission-critical environments
  • 2–4+ years of experience leading technicians, service teams, or maintenance execution in live operational environments
  • Strong knowledge of switchgear, UPS systems, batteries, generators, transfer equipment, PDUs, grounding, and power distribution systems
  • Experience managing maintenance programs, outages, vendor execution, and incident response in live operational environments
  • Familiarity with EPMS, SCADA, BMS, and CMMS tools
  • Strong electrical safety leadership and operational judgment
  • Ability to manage incidents calmly and communicate clearly under pressure
  • Strong ownership mindset with disciplined follow-through on risk reduction and corrective actions
  • High attention to detail in switching, procedures, documentation, and compliance execution
  • Ability to lead technicians and contractors while reinforcing strong execution standards and field discipline

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting commissioning, turnover, or acceptance of new electrical systems
  • Experience with mission-critical power systems in high-availability environments
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance, electrical testing practices, switching procedures, and incident review processes
  • Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license
  • NFPA 70E training
  • OSHA 30
  • OEM or manufacturer training on UPS systems, switchgear, generators, breakers, or protective systems
  • NETA, NICET, or similar electrical testing / maintenance-related credentials
