Boeing is seeking a Facilities Plant Civil Engineer to support manufacturing and airplane production operations. Responsibilities include design, development, procurement, and modification of civil engineering and environmental systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop moderately complex designs, final designs, cost estimates and provide maintenance support for the civil/structural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds
  2. Assist others to integrate the activities of multiple engineering disciplines, outside consultants and government agencies
  3. Align civil/structural designs with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices and materials
  4. Ensure accuracy of drawing archives by reviewing contractor redlines and identifying errors/changes in order to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards and record retention requirements
  5. Support construction processes by providing input on vendor selection; review contractor proposals; interface with government/regulatory agencies; monitor project progress and vendor/consultant performance

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or Physics
  • 3+ years of experience in operations, engineering, and maintenance practices across various facilities and infrastructure systems
  • 3+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, schematics, and construction specifications
  • 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or similar software

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience applying engineering principles and techniques when providing technical solutions to difficult problems while complying with local and federal regulations
  • Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Experience interacting and collaborating with inter-organizational personnel, including project managers, construction managers, maintenance staff and contractors
