Joby Aviation is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician with a strong focus on HVAC systems to support daily operations and maintenance of their San Carlos site. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and building systems, as well as general facilities maintenance and vendor oversight. The position requires 4-6 years of experience with commercial HVAC systems and a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, VAVs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, and split systems
  2. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues
  3. Monitor building systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and occupant comfort
  4. Respond to work orders and service requests in a timely manner
  5. Perform general facilities maintenance (lighting, doors, ceilings, minor carpentry and plumbing)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • EPA Universal Certification
  • HVAC trade school or technical certification
  • Experience supporting commercial office, lab, or industrial facilities
  • Familiarity with BAS/BMS systems
  • Additional HVAC or energy management certifications
