This role performs minor maintenance tasks and general upkeep of a distribution center, including supporting maintenance technicians, electrical safety processes, equipment maintenance, and facility inspections. Responsibilities also include changing PIT batteries, maintaining label printers, operating tools, performing minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting, drywall, concrete), assisting with pest control and HVAC maintenance, managing waste removal, operating snow removal equipment, driving company vehicles for various tasks, and adhering to safety procedures and PPE usage. The role involves utilizing handheld devices for work orders and paperwork.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support Maintenance Technicians in performing mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance throughout the facility, such as servicing and repair of hand tools and minor floor machines.
  2. Act as a Qualified Electrical Assistant for electrical safety processes.
  3. Support maintenance personnel in installation/removal of assorted items of equipment throughout the facility.
  4. Evaluate and inspect the interior/exterior of the facility to determine general upkeep or repair requirements.
  5. Change PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) batteries, perform preventative and corrective maintenance on batteries, keep battery equipment clean and painted, keep battery-changing records, and turn in records at shift end.
