Facility Technician (government)

The Facility Technician role supports government public sector clients by ensuring the readiness, reliability, and survivability of critical network facilities and infrastructure during emergencies and disasters. This involves maintaining essential equipment like generators, UPS, and HVAC systems, adhering to strict readiness postures, and complying with environmental laws. The role requires a strong background in facility mechanics and electrical systems, with experience in emergency power and cooling systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. This position is of a small team that supports our customer to ensure readiness, reliability, and survivability of facilities during times of emergency or crisis such as natural disasters, and nation emergencies.
  2. Work entails 12 hour rotating shift as well as callouts and temporary assignments in response to disaster recovery requirements.
  3. Candidates are required to maintain certification and proficiency with HAZMAT type PPE equipment and operations.
  4. Candidates must support a 7X24X365 readiness posture, which could include extended periods of time in potentially hazardous environments.
  5. Candidate will maintain critical network operations support for facilities/equipment.

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building/facility mechanics and electrical systems.
  • Experience in building infrastructure equipment to include, but not limited to generators, power distribution units (PDU), uninterruptible power systems (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS), HVAC, etc.
  • TS/SCI clearance
