Factory Systems Integration Technologist

This role focuses on integrating and hosting critical Digital Technology (DT) Infrastructure within manufacturing environments, ensuring cybersecurity, compliance, and uptime. Responsibilities include developing and deploying DT/OT solutions, architecting network designs, providing technical support for automation engineers, hosting and maintaining server systems, configuring security software, and resolving complex DT issues in OT development spaces. The role requires experience in network design, Windows system administration, and factory IT equipment, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and compliance in regulated environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing and deploying new DT/OT solutions that satisfy governance, sustainment, and cybersecurity requirements on behalf of Digital Technology
  2. Architecting network designs applying segmentation principles (e.g. Purdue model) and facilitate business processes to implement network infrastructure (vlans, firewalls, etc…)
  3. Collaborating with cross functional technical teams to enable, create, and support advancement of new and legacy DT/OT architectures
  4. Providing technical support, design input, and solution alternatives to Operations automation and software engineers utilizing DT hardware and software environments
  5. Hosting, installing, configuring, maintaining, and inventorying server and workstation systems

Skills

Required

  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: network design, Windows system administration, application packaging and scripting, data analysis, or installation and operation of factory IT equipment
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Desktops (e.g., Windows XP, 7, 10, 11), Windows Servers (e.g., Windows Server 2008, 2012 & 2016) and/or Linux/Unix operating system administration

Nice to have

  • Operations Technology (OT) integration and automation experience (sensors, robotics, PLCs etc.)
  • Expertise and experience in network architectural design
  • Experience with cyber-security vulnerability remediation and system hardening
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services support
  • Understanding of group policies and setting system security controls
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer interaction skills with users of all levels
  • Ability to work independently, research and implement emerging architecture patterns, and make recommendations on IT security and compliance-based decision-making
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively.

  • Detail-oriented and methodical troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of web access controls, advanced authentication methods and virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge/experience with Ignition platforms/projects
  • Knowledge of Security+, CISSP, CNA, MCP, MCSA, or similar
  • Mastery of computing/networking fundamentals including TPC/IP, DNS/DHCP, AD/GPO, WLAN, VPN
  • Experience supporting computing assets in engineering and/or factory floor environments
  • Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Literacy in additional computer operating systems including Unix and Linux
  • Experience with Citrix and virtual desktop/application delivery technologies
  • Programming/Scripting Experience
