Fall Intern, Financial Analyst - September 2026 (4 Month)

This is an intern role focused on financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting within the fintech domain. The responsibilities include developing automated models for cost assumptions and forecasting HST liability, analyzing financial metrics, preparing forecasts, and participating in financial reporting processes. While AI tools might be used by the company, the core craft of this role is financial analysis and modeling, not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing an automated model to determine cost assumptions for business lines present value models for investment decisions. This involved determining operating expense assumptions that focus on new account acquisition costs, as well as maintenance and servicing costs for existing accounts. The goal: Automating various input data sources and developing a standardized and repeatable models
  2. Building a new python-based model to automate HST liability forecast process. The goal: Create a simpler model that could capture more detailed expense categories and clearly identify expenses that are HST applicable vs not to justify retiring the old manual complex model.
  3. Analyze financial metrics and performance
  4. Prepare financial forecasts in support of evolving product and strategy decisions
  5. Develop reporting and analysis to provide insight into business trends

Skills

Required

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree or higher from an accredited university

Nice to have

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
  • Previous internship/co-op experience
